State of the Union

Ken got all pissy because I said "that black geezer" - can't really see whats wrong with that myself, but hey-ho, American "morals" must prevail I suppose - they do after all run the planet so we must bow to their superior knowledge:rolleyes:

FYI - I get all pissy when you insensately submit the notions like 'us Americans want to 'run the planet' and have the world 'bow' to our alleged 'superior knowledge'' ;)

er - actually, thats exactly what the Americans want to do. Thats why the USA disregards the UN and blunders into wars they have no hope of winning.
I have met many American tourists who think they're gods gift with their loudmouths and their Hawaiian shirts treating everyone like they are lesser persons.

I hate to burst your bubble but you have no idea of what 'Americans want to do' ;)

And may I suggest that you may have encountered the exceptions and that there are people from all walks of life that think they're 'gods gift' and 'treat everyone like they are the lesser person'? For example, you treat Americans like we are the lesser persons - ;)

oh yes we do - your president makes bloody sure the whole world knows

Very true, odd though that its more prevailent in the Yanks than any other tourist national I've met

For example, you treat Americans like we are the lesser persons - ;)
trying to teach you about world events and the like is not treating you like a lesser person. If you didn't argue so much you may learn something. As we have said on many occasions, Rich and I are trying to help you - but its an upward struggle.

You American colleague on another thread has admitted he knew nothing of a war faught in the 1980's just off the South American coast!! he also thinks that if an island is near a bigger country then they should own it.
That logic would mean that France should own the UK.

They'd have to fight the Russians for it! I believe they already own most of the UK! They bought it while we weren't looking..

So if a single American is unaware of a single facet of British military history, that supports your theory that we're all ignorant. Like whatever! :p

Perhaps he felt a war over a post-empirical piece of rock that claimed numerous lives was a tad anachronistic.

Yes Ken's American, what's confusing about that?

Well I was just looking for a reason for that fellow Higg's rudeness, especially since we've been told umpteen times that Americans are always polite

Please link to where I actually said that. However, if thats your thought then I'll run with it if you like.

Perhaps he felt a war over a post-empirical piece of rock that claimed numerous lives was a tad anachronistic.
we have pointed out already that the Argies invaded British Sovereign territory. We defended it and saw off the infiltrators. What would the Yanks do if Mexico invaded Hawaii? just stand by and let them have it?
