Strange problem with "my computer" (1 Viewer)

All of a sudden whenever I click on this it takes about 20 seconds or so to load up the drives that are there. Before it took almost no time at all. There are only the usual objects that appear there and once you've gone into it, you can browse around it at the normal speed. This also happens when you go to save something say in MS word, you click on the bar in save as to go to a different drive/folder and it takes the same amount of time to load up. It's pretty damn irritating! Any ideas?

defrag the hard drive

This is generally caused by the systen trying to connect to a mapped/network drive which is not available. If you have such a mapped drive, delete it.
