Trump Administration Predictions (2 Viewers)

Pick up the safe cases that there will be no reasonable or widespread dispute over (most likely),
They did pick the safe cases. This guy had two deportation orders and admitted he was a member of MS 13 also. He is currently HOME in El Salvador where he was born. Why they put him in prison, I don't know. Probably because he is an acknowledged member of MS 13 and El Salvador is doing its best to rid themselves of all gangs and apparently doing a bang up job.

I just don't want this to turn into what it already has begun to turn into - legal status people being harassed and detained.
You have a dog in this fight and you are letting it cloud your judgement. You are believing the totally biased left-wing media. The article I read about the issue told quite a different story about why the young man was apprehended. Why he was held for 10 days, I can't answer? Why was he not carrying his driver's license? Why did it take so long for his family to produce a birth certificate? Did it take that long for them to get a fake DL and a real BS with the appropriate name?

Perhaps, or perhaps I am seeing things as they really are for some people.

Trump connects with the working man, everyone from construction workers to small business owners. Democrats, on the other hand, show disdain for the working class and have taken them for granted. This is reflected clearly in the last election.
I totally agree with that. Dem brain serve to push people to MAGA so MAGA can separate us from our money. It's a hell of a two faced coin.

Dems were doing that long before MAGA was a thing. They not only have disdain for you, but they also want you to remain on their self-imposed plantation, that’s the truly evil part.

For a long time Republicans have sought to lower taxes on the rich and put the burden on small business and middle class workers

With very limited exceptions, a burden should be placed on ALL who live here and use government services. Yes, there should be a proportional. burden - but not necessarily on the same curve as the differential salary curve. And if there is a problem with the Alternative Minimum Tax then have Congress adjust it.

As you have repeatedly stated, you don't understand what is happening. You have some kind of weird hero worship of the wealthiest. It's like when the USA fought for independence some folks clung to the Crown, that would be you..

i'm not going to bother reexplaining, for the 50th time, why you beliefs are flawed,

I post these as an experiment, to see if any Cool Aid Drinkers will actually move away from their 100% positions. This Trump thing is a plan to transfer all of the cost of running this nation squarely on the back of the workers, while the wealthiest class rule over us like Gods. It's an age old dilemma and Conservatives are definitely paving the way for the destruction of everything middle class, or Great, in America.

This may sound a bit silly, but I almost wonder if this
He maintains that he told a state trooper he was a U.S. citizen and had shared his Georgia ID and Social Security card ― but the Department of Homeland Security denies this, claiming that Lopez-Gomez had told a Florida Highway Patrol trooper that he was in the country illegally
could have been something as simple as the fact that when Hispanics speaking English with an accent say a word that begins with L (or S, for that matter), their accent makes it sound as if they are saying a vowel beforehand. For example, when my wife says "Stand", it sounds more like "Estand" because she is trying "too hard" to say the S, so to speak.
Thus "legal", sounds like "elegal", and you can guess the rest.

On the other hand, that could be the least likely explanation .... I'm not sure, but he said/she said gets us nowhere, unfortunately I wish I could have known what actually happened there

This very nicely sums up my position. I feel that "tax the rich" should be turned into "tax everyone at the same percentage".
10% hurts everyone the same, that's the whole point of a percentage. Some may disagree with this, but the Tithe concept has worked for the Church for centuries if not millenia. A poor person can sqeak out their 10% just like a rich person can, in 99% of cases.

Half the country not paying taxes is no good.

On the other hand, rich people avoiding taxes altogether needs to stop - they would REALLY have to pay their 10% for my plan to work.

But I am completely against the lower income half of the country paying zero taxes. Zero is not good. A little bit would be fair.

I pay a lot of taxes, as I am not poor enough to avoid it, and not rich enough to avoid it. I'd like more people to join me, please!

I'm good, as I'd already expressed my strong reservations about Trump's tarriff positions. I'd still like to give it 6 mo to shake out, but I'm definitely not pretending to know for sure it is all good ideas on his part. If only he would have done what I thought - put some mild tariffs on China and move on. But he cannot seem to move on. He struggles with moving on from things generally speaking. He's too interested in saving face. I'd pay $100 to hear him once say "I was wrong - I'm moving on to other strategies" - from anything

Since you failed to adequately explain the previous 50 times, I too will not bother to examine subsequent explanations.

Review and comment:

There seems to be a lot of people saying that.

and I sort of knew he would go overboard on immigration, but voted for him anyway, because of the "good parts" of it, and of course, because of a million other reasons I think Republicans push society in a better direction than Democrats do - but I did think he would limit the tariffs a bit , i admit.

A judge initially ruled in 2019 that government evidence about Abrego Garcia’s gang membership was "trustworthy," and was upheld on appeal; later, two federal judges ruled that the government’s information was unsupported.

As I said, very much debated, something reasonable people on both sides are disagreeing about. This is not a safe open and shut case. It was a stupid one to be tried.

Then you really need to get on top of Congress to clean up the tax code and weed out the loopholes that ALL wealthy people use. In fact these loopholes are so lucrative, that the wealthy hire expensive accountants to find the ones that give them the best benefits.

That's the advantage you and I don't have. Pretty much all my income comes with 1099's attached. And even when clients don't bother with a 1099, I still declare the income because during an audit, a large deposit would most certainly be noticed and NONE of my clients pay me in cash. The lower income people who cheat work in cash businesses or get tips as their major source of income. I stopped tipping in cash years ago when a friend took a job as the controller for a mom and pop restaurant and told me what was going on there.

But in order to get the deportation order cancelled due to his asylum claim, he had to admit himself that he was a member of the gang and that was why his life was in jeopardy from a now defunct rival gang. Duh! What part of that are you missing? He admitted to being in a gang in order to claim asylum. Nice try.

Gang/no gang is irrelevant. Tats/no tats is a red herring even though only a stupid person would cover himself in gang tats if he wasn't a gang member. The relevant point is being in the country illegally. You could be Sister Teresa and if you overstayed your visa, you would be subject to deportation. The issue that got this particular person to the top of the list was the two existing deportation orders AND the gang affiliation.

Yeah, it's getting harder to avoid paying taxes in the middle class even if one wanted to not declare. My tenant does Zillow payments for a while, that got me a 1099-K (or whatever it is, I forgot) - Paypal, the bank account, Venmo, CashApp, they all have to now and nobody pays me cash either. It's a tight net!

I don't know about Abrego. I seize on to that as an example, it may not be the best one. The general over-detaining of people who have legal status is my main concern. It's subjective, and I can't really quantify it, I just have the sense that it needs to be reigned in.

**Again - we have a zillion people who we know for sure are "documented illegals", as they surrendered to BP, were given a court date and never appeared.

Deport them. It will take us years.
