Trump Administration Predictions (1 Viewer)

During the first weeks of 1933, the Nazi regime deployed the radio, press, and newsreels to stoke fears of a pending “Communist uprising,” then channeled popular anxieties into political measures that eradicated civil liberties and democracy.

and now in 2025.

"60 Minutes" addressed the departure of long-time executive producer Bill Owens on April 27, 2025, implying that CBS News's parent company, Paramount, was exerting influence over the show's coverage to appease President Donald Trump. This action was seen as a response to Trump's lawsuit against CBS and the ongoing merger negotiations between Paramount and Skydance Media, which require approval from the Trump-appointed Federal Communications Commission.

New prediction, Trump Co will leave the office of the President with the US being in much worse shape than how he found it. Just like last time. And he will blame the Dems, act the victim, just like last time.
i noticed most of you aren't really writing predictions. And why would you? you're having a hard time drinking this latest cool aid.

time for a new cognitive test.

Yeah, that was a bit blatant. The print was too dark / high contrast for a tattoo, too sharp at the edges for ink on a semi-porous surface, and too well-aligned for small print on an irregular / stretchy surface like skin. But Donald didn't hire me as a consultant. What's a guy to do?

So how would you characterize his insistence that Garcia actually had MS13 on his knuckles?

And for those who may not have seen the interview

I'm not annoyed. I'm concerned about our divided nation.
I too am concerned about nations becoming divided. It has happened in the UK too. One of the main causes, in my humble opinion, is identity politics. What do you expect if you divide everybody into groups based on race, gender and sexuality? You end up focusing on differences between people rather than what we have in common.

It's a tough call sometimes between whatever desire/duty we may have to try for peace and reconciliation, versus also not wanting to literally endorse the wrong things.

I'm sad our nation is divided, but better there be a divide than the side that is more right throw up their hands and say ok, we surrender all our values and we join you for peace's sake.

I like the Christian mantra "love the sinner, hate the sin". We should all be ready and willing to affirm someone's Godly worth as a human begin and with a sincere hug and an equally sincere hospitality. If and when the subject of something wrong comes up, we may have to politely disagree (and if they are the type that has already decided to a certainty that "if you don't approve of everything I do, it means you Hate Me" - they will probably start hating you - an irony that will likely escape them) :)

I always thought if I ran a church, I would attempt to demonstrate that all were welcome in my church - including gays, transgenders, people with habits and hangups of all kinds. You'd be totally 100% welcome to be in that church as long as you like, but it'd be subject to the exact same rules as anyone else would......You wouldn't have any special luxuries, such as me avoiding sermon topics that made you uncomfortable.

In common we need affordable health care.

Are you beaming with pride yet?
Maybe science needs to stop aligning with left wing kooks, and get back to main stream science. Covid19 and climate change destroyed any credibility they had.

They really did take a hit with the covid 19 stuff.

The biggest laugh (if only it were funny) was that we should look to "scientists" for information about when to close businesses, schools, and social events. Now that's just patently absurd. You don't look to a scientist to tell you that any more than you'd ask a Doctor how often to go to Confession, or ask an Economist what's the proper 3rd grade reading level.

Society should have taken all the info the scientists had at the time (half of which was wrong but go along with me here for a second) .... taken all that info very politely and said OK Thanks, Now we'll make the business, spiritual, educational, and soul-altering decisions concerning closing businesses, schools, churches, and social events.

But no. For some reason we looked to a profession that has nothing to do with any of that for guidance. "follow the science" makes about as much sense as me telling my wife "follow the recipe for meatloaf" when she's making mashed potatoes.
(although I do wish she would stick to a meatloaf recipe so they all turn out just as good).

Here is one thing I think 90% of America would support - price transparency and publication. That the hospital has to actually stick to.
Then you just shop around and Bam, the free market operates as it should, automatically punishing the price gougers and rewarding the cheaper ones.

Florida ignored conventional wisdom and they did just fine. States like California and New York didn't fair so well, economically, medically and educationally. The truth is out there.

Explain how you would make health care "affordable"?

PS: Increasing taxation does not make things "affordable", it backfires through increased inflation and fraud. Virtually every federal where tax dollars are used to subsidize programs are rife with fraud and and excessive consumer costs.

Absolutely! Where do you think some of the DOGE "fraudulent use" findings were found? In federal subsidies!

Fauci misled the public about his involvement in gain-of-function research at Wuhan, undermining trust in science and damaging the credibility of researchers around the world by promoting flawed data.

This action was seen as a response to Trump's lawsuit against CBS
Was this the lawsuit regarding CBS' manipulation of the Harris interview where they allowed her to restate her answers when they were word-salad? Seems like election interference to me. The public is supposed to see the candidates as they are, not manipulated to look intelligent. CBS presents itself to the world as real news and this proves that they are no such thing. Why should YOU as a concerned voter not be questioning the ethics of 60 minutes? Instead you make it sound like Trump is overstepping. Why is Trump the bad guy for bringing the lawsuit? Why do you say that CBS is attempting to appease Trump rather than clean up their act? Your summary is totally twisted logic and a complete misstatement of the underlying facts of the story.
