I intalled same SQL server desktop version at my office and home and I need to workin the same db I created at home.

Hence I created same db name on server at office and tried to restore back up of my home db (back up from CD). But it prodced the attached error. Then I copied back up file somewhere in C: drive and again tried to restore again but failed.

1. Can somebody explain me how to restore the db?
2. Do I need to create the same db folder name on server to restore the back up file of my home?
3. Why can not I restore back up from CD drive while back up is ok?
4. Do it really need to copy backup some where in hard disk and then only can copy?

Please extend your help since I want to work at both pcs at home and office. So when I get the time I can restore the latest back up from one to another and start working. Please note that I am using MS Access as FE and SQL Server Desktop Version as BE.

Thanks in advance.
Ashaque

When you restore on a different machine, and the physical path is different than the backup machine, you have to specify the path for it to load the files to.
See attached image for critical areas to look at and adjust as needed
