Report Prompt

I have a query that looks like this:

>=[Forms]![YTD Criteria]![YrStrtDate]

I want the propmpt to say "Enter Start Date"

What am I missing?

Re: Report Prompt

You shouldn't be prompted at all; the query should get the value from that form, presuming it's open. If you don't want to use the form (though I would), you'd have a criteria of:

>=[Enter Start Date]

Re: Report Prompt

I want the user prompted. So that the report only returns the date range they want to see.

This is my query:

Between [Forms]![YTD Criteria]![YrSrtDate] And [Forms]![YTD Criteria]![PerEndDate]

I need the user to be prompted with "Enter the start date" and "Enter the end date"

How do I modify the query to do that please?

Between [Enter the start date] And [Enter the end date]

Me not understand

Between [Forms]![YTD Criteria]![YrSrtDate] And [Forms]![YTD Criteria]![PerEndDate]

implies that the date range is taken from controls on a form. Why do you need a prompt?

Perhaps the OP wants to prompt the user to open the form and enter the dates. :confused:

I'm guessing that they have copied the criteria from somewhere without understanding what its all about despite Paul's best efforts.
