Hi
Hope someone can help since this feels a disaster. I rebuilt my main PC as Windows 8 Pro yesterday following getting caught out by a suspected rootkit that must have sneaked in over weekend. Ended up doing full format of the disc and virgin install which got rid of problem. Everything went fine but I am now trying to work on files in Access 2010 and I keep getting message as shown on image.
I have tried running .mdb files and also .accdb files.
The old copies seem to execute code but will not let you view VBA code or add new.
Would prefer not to rebuild PC a second time and go back to Win7 (Win8 much faster) but cannot work unless I can find a solution. Tried Google but nothing much to help.
Anyone got ideas how to sort this?
Thanks

Malcolm

The problem (I am taking a very random guess here).. I think is because, the VBA version that you currently have is VBA5, however the newer versions (I think > A2000) has VBA6.. so you have to upgrade to the latest.. I will also look into that.. in the meantime.. look into Microsoft's solution..

NOTE: The link is not aimed at MSAccess.. Just a hint on what the problem might be.. I will look into it more and post back if I find something useful..

Did you try google with the word "vbe6ext.olb".
Lot of hits is comming up, mostly about corrupt Office installation.

Thanks guys
Running a repair on Office did the trick. Had horrible feeling there were legacy issues coming out to bite me but all now appears OK. Odd one though since never happened to me before like that!
