Maybe 25 years ago, while I was living in Chicago, I had the need to take a taxi one evening. I hailed a taxi, and after giving instructions as to where I was going, the young and friendly driver and I engaged in a conversation. I noticed that he had an accent, and I asked him where he was from, and while I don’t remember where that was, I remember that it was not a particularly great place to live. He asked about me, and what I did, and towards the end we talked about the situation in the Middle East, where he was from. He was in college here, in pre-med, and was driving a taxi to earn his keep while attending school. I don’t remember what we exactly talked about, but as we reached my destination, and as I was leaving the cab, he turned to me with almost a look of derision on his face and said, “You Americans, you don’t know what you have.” I just nodded and shut the door.

But through the years that statement has stayed with me, and at times haunted me, because he was absolutely right-We don’t know what we have. Or better, we don’t appreciate what we have. His words haunt me even more now with the country being rendered apart by hate and revenge. I am older and one of the lessons I’ve learned in my life is to “be careful what you wish for, because you’re liable to get it.” We have a prosperous society, and we live well. What part don’t we understand.

Our problem is that a segment of the population has decided that America is evil and must be torn down and rebuilt. Things were going along quietly but steadily until the evil orange man came on the scene. Trump pulled the blinders off the citizens and now people see the racism that i being taught to our children as well as the sexual perversion along with the corruption of our federal agencies like the DOJ and FBI where they let politics guide their prosecutions.

The Democrats made a HUGE mistake when Trump was elected. They should have gone into hibernation. They still controlled the deep state so they could prevent any real solutions from being implemented. They just had to hide the problem and lay dormant for a couple of years. Instead, they decided to fight back. What they didn't understand was that Americans are NOT Socialists although the Democrats have recreated the plantation mentality by convincing inner city blacks that they are victims and therefore we actually have an underclass in a country which in practice is a classless society. In America today, the blacks themselves run the plantations and somehow have convinced the local citizenry that if they just vote for the Democrats one more time, the problem will be solved. We're almost there. Forget that their streetlights are out because the criminals break them, Their children die in their cribs from random gunfire and Johnny can't read. If their children can't read and do basic math, how can they survive in a rapidly changing society that needs something more than backbreaking labor from them? So, yes, they are victims. But they're victims of the Democrats who want to keep them poor and uneducated and hopeless.

But, the tide is turning. American isn't actually racist (yes we have individual racists). Anyone can make it in America and that is why immigrants want to come here. We have vocal minorities who are working on educating the masses as to what is really going on. Why to immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean and Asia do very well in the US? Simple, they didn't grow up thinking they were victims and the world owed them something. They took the opportunity to come here and they worked to make something of themselves and whitey didn't stop them. How about that!

I agree with your last paragraph. I've been to some bad places, but one of the worst was Port au Prince, Haiti, when Papa Doc was running the show down there. It was awful. I don't blame people living in place that will never get better for wanting to come here. If I were in their shoes I would too. But I don't believe that we can just open the boarders. I kind of think maybe we should try and fix the problems from whence they come. I will also note that I have a number of really good Doctors that aren't from around here.

But I do think the the Donald broke the law, and should account for it. Particularly with regard to the documents he took with him for reasons only he knows. Leverage or cash, or both. 25 Years ago, I was told by a real estate developer that I did some GIS work for, to never get involved with anyone from the Trump Organization, because he never pays his bills. For me, there is nothing fuzzy. He took documents he wasn't supposed to, that were the property of the USA, some of them classified. There are persons who took classified documents that were swiftly dealt with and did prison time. I have had some knowledge of the man, for some time, a bit of it professional. I was told to avoid him or any of his people 25 years ago when I was doing work for developers, because he stiffs people that do work for him . Nothing murky about stealing state secrets, and of course, windmills cause cancer (which had to do with the golf course he built in Scotland), and all he needed were 11,370 votes that didn't exist in Georgia. As to foreign policy then, by your assertion, the President can do what ever he wants. What if it were bad for the country, but good for him? The President is not a monarch. I said they were in his desk. It was reported the FBI laid them out on the floor to take a picture. However, they still were in his office and basement, and he won't tell what he wanted them for. Where is the documentation that he declassified the documents, which he has to create and then it is reviewed by various agencies to access the impact. He just can't think of it and then it is so. Whether Hillary was guilty or not has nothing to do with Don's actions. That's like "Sam robbed a bank and got away with so, so I should be able to do that as well, but I got caught, so lets forget about my crime and deflect everything to Sam, that way I won't look so guilty." If they are both guilty then gather the real evidence and prosecute away. Except in Hillary's case, I know, the deep, dark state covered it up. Is it because they are all devouring babies in the basement of a pizza parlor, and other urban legends.
