Coronavirus - are we all doomed? (6 Viewers)

Trumps presidency amounts to a failed coup by the FBI and former administration bad actors. At the very least he deserves a do over for illegal activities committed by the former administration.
The failed coup attempt by Democrats has been a significant "anchor" around the Trump administration. The most recent egregious action was the failed impeachment effort by the Democrats as the COVID-19 pandemic began to materialize.

I think naming a scientific issue based on a tirade of vengeful feelings is silly,
What's wrong with seeking for revenge? Have you lost a brother because of this Chinese virus? Have you lost a sister? or a mother? or a relative?
Have your family suffered from this virus?
Have you lost your father because of this virus and they don't give you the body, nor you are allowed to say your goodbye?

Have you been obliged to stay at home for days and weeks and months? Or stand in a long line for buying a toilet paper roll? Or for some meat to feed your kids? Have you seen your wife trying to hide her tears and show she's strong enough to support her family?
Have your children been delayed of education and stay away from school? Has the company you worked for went bankrupted and you have to look for a new job, if any?
Have you ever thought about the impact of this Chinese virus on the economy and on human civilization for the coming decades?
Have you ever asked yourself what's the difference between hiding the data of a deadly virus and a world war?

What's wrong if I ask for a revenge? And how is it silly?

Re post 1093 - Touché
Anyway, calling a spade a spade is hardly revenge. In this case it is calling something by the name it deserves.

A restaurant in Japan did an experiment showing how fast a ‘virus’ spreads that setting.

I can't watch the clip neither from my PC nor from my phone. It goes blank when I play it.
So I don't know exactly what it is, but we had the same experiment on a train, on a bus and a shopping mall. Someone was played as infected and a blue light showed the virus and how it spread all over the place.

I was talking about this to my wife the other day. About 6 months ago, when the market came up enough we sold her Apartment.. She bought it before we met at the height of the bubble before the crash. We had been renting it out and at best lost about 250/month, when we didn't have a tenant we lost about 1200/month. We never recouped what we lost during normal renting times, these folks will never be made whole.

They have videos of hotel rooms and bathrooms using black lights, literally human waste everywhere. Before COVID-19 everyone still rented those rooms and used those bathrooms.

Tera, if you believe that seeking for revenge is not silly and is a good idea in the midst of the real problems that need to be solved right now, I can't change your mind and won't be argumentative on the point. These forums are not a good place for continued political argument. I've spoken my piece, and I respect your opinion.

Today there's a hit in social networks under this title:
west Virginia is a war zone during their coronavirus parties.

I couldn't find any youtube video.
But this page has a part of the clip:
link removed to possibly infecting thread

Can anybody explain what's going on?

Colorado amends coronavirus death count - says fewer have died of COVID-19 than previously thought.

Colorado has made a stunning and significant change to the way it counts COVID-19 deaths that reduced the statewide figure from more than 1,000 to 878, according to a report.
While its only 122 miss reports so far, if you compound these numbers out it could significant world wide.

Everyone needs to be skeptical of computer modeling they can be politically driven. 🌎 ;)

Or those are already the compounded figures for Colorado, thus making the initial estimates highly accurate, since a tiny percentage difference in the initial prediction will compound out to a near 10% difference in the end. Devils advocate!

I agree regarding the politically driven version of the model people decide to use. Mentioned this in a recent post.

Absolutely. (y)

I was kinda saying that calling a 10% difference on highly volatile estimates is not really stunning at all. But on further reflection, we are indeed on the same page because computer modelling is using these variables and thus is prone is high error (initially!).

But because its my Devils Advocate day, I want to disagree! So, you have two choices: a computer model or no model. One gives predictive ability that will change over time as you update the variables with more data, while the other doesn't. A torpedo goes off target, but keeps redirecting like the computer models as the data comes in. No model means you end up with no foresight and higher error bars.

But what do I know, I am a mere discussion forum owner who's birthday it is today and is depressed because he is getting older!

@Tera - I'm drawing a blank on anything specific to West Virginia and parties. The stuff I can find suggests they are relatively low on the scale of infections and deaths. I've done more than one search approaching from different angles. No relevant hits so far. I should note that there is apparently a W.Va. sports group calling itself "Warzone" which seems to be related to prizefighting or mixed martial arts competitions.

The link you posted is in a language I don't read and it was interacting with my brower so I shut it off. My Kaspersky hadn't alerted yet so at least it either was poorly coded or it had not gotten far enough to do damage.

Congrats on your birthday, Jon! Many happy returns, as we say. So, if this is anything like my stepdaughter's birthday, is it something like the 21st anniversary of your 29th birthday?

Thanks Doc. Yes, and a little bit more. Time flies and then we are dead. Unless my mind gets uploaded into the cloud, and then I think I am alive but I am not altogether sure.

Sorry Doc for the link. I deleted it. I’ll try to add a TikTok link.
