BBQ Rules

Small town, Target is 50 miles away. Desires are another pitcher of margueritas when the first one is finished. :D

I overheard someone request sugar on the rim of their marguerita the other day in a restaurant - ugh. Is that a new trend - ?

not for me. was it a strawberry or other type fruit marguerita?

It was light green looking - Maybe lime?

And corn on-the-cobb done on the grill is also good - :)

We also take vidalias (or other sweet yellow onions), peel them, rub olive oil and spices all over them, and then wrap them in foil and throw them on the grill for a while. Yummy.

Has anyone ever wrapped potatoes in foil and grilled them? That's pretty good too.

I can eat almost anything grilled.

Yes, but it's been a long time. We also rubbed olive oil (and salt maybe, I think) on the skins before we wrapped them in foil. They are pretty good.

I'm surprised my husband hasn't had the itch to grill yet this year. He usually starts up every spring when it begins getting warm. :D

We have been grilling for about a month now. We had beer can chicken.

beer can chicken is really easy, take a 4/5 lb chicken, rub with olive oil, rub with your favorite rub (ours is bayou blast), drink 1/2 a beer, place the beer can with the remainder of the beer into the chicken cavity. Bank the coals on one side of the grill and put the chicken on the grill like a tripod (on the side without the coals). Cook for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I turn the chicken every 15 minutes so it cooks evenly. Very very moist and tender.

Do you prefer gas or charcoal grills? I refuse to use a gas grill I don't see the point.

We actually have an array of different grills, one gas and one charcoal both of which were given to us at different times by different people (used, of course). Now, however, we mainly use the smoker (also given to us :) ), which can be used as a smoker or an ordinary grill and uses charcoal (or wood). It makes for some pretty tasty food.
