The prime reason to post this, where it would normally not be posted, is that a ban of Colin would inevitably lead to a thread anyway which would have demanded to know why he was banned.

Oh, I agree with you 100% there, Bob. I'm just surprised that this thread is inviting comments on the situation. In my experience on forums, admins/mods would post a locked thread explaining the situation, and that is all. I don't know, I guess it just seems like the mods are trying to get support for their position, or something. I'm not really sure what to make of it.

Again, it is the nature of this board. If it was locked, another thread would have sprung up anyway. Just another way that this forum is different than a lot of others (not necessarily for the good, but just different).

Exactly as Bob pointed out. If we closed this one, someone else would open one to give their opinion on the situation. This was the thought process on keeping it open. I also think it's important for the questions that have come up regarding this situation.
