No Americans

What celebrating victory in a war which was waged to lower the tax burden of the rich? I thought it was quite unique to the USA to be honest, though I could be wrong as I haven't researched it.

I was refering to the statement that rich americans goes through lengths to avoid paying taxes.
I'm sure they (those rich ones) are not alone in the world to avoid taxation. :)

Sock is singular, You add the 's' to make the plural.
Sex, box, fox, etc. are just words that end in 'x', which happens to sound like 'cks' when spoken.
What do you add to sex then to get the plural?

your about to get a dose of Sharia law, let us know how that works out for ya.
Don't believe what you read in the paranoid American press, oh, and that should be you're by the way:rolleyes:

No it actually came from one of your paranoid rags. "Poll reveals 40pc of Muslims want sharia law in UK" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...ls-40pc-of-Muslims-want-sharia-law-in-UK.html

You might want to check with France, Demark and a few others. Believe it or not you are being out breed 2:1.

Eerrr - loaded question - ask a fat person do they want a bun 50% of say yes - that doesn't mean 50% of the population want a bun --

ask a restrictive group of people isn't going to get a proper answer

Ask 100 men if they wax their legs 98% say no - that doesn't mean that 98% of the population doesn't wax its legs...

Sorry stupid question/stupid reseach - stupid paper ..

And we've just finished paying the bill they charged us for it. You don't think they did it for free do you?

Col
I didn't audit the invoices but surely they were for equipment used by British troops.
How much equipment has Britain ever given away freely ?

Just because the US were able to supply doesn't mean it comes free of charge.

Did the US charge Britain for all their war costs?

New Zealand and Australia had debts to England for war equipment.

Since you’re so big on speaking the King’s English and fixing everyone’s grammatical errors shouldn’t your quote read. “I'd worry about the Mexicans taking over the U.S. if I were you” We share a border with Mexico not Spain.
You're not correct again either, I should have said "Hispanic":p

A similar article appeared in the BBC.

I agree all your papers suck, and can not be trusted.

Probably - but can any paper / news really be trusted

papers are there to sell - not to inform and the same can be said of news

it is never impartical (?) - either loaded one way by the producer/report or by the country its in -

Very seldom is there a piece of news that is delivered neutral

someone always tries to get a bit of a view on it or promote themselves soemhow ..
whether they be UK/USA - India/pakistan etc..

No only Racist Brits use that. As for hispanic that is wrong also. Hispanic (Spanish: hispano, hispánico) is a term that originally denoted a relationship to the ancient Hispania << Part of Spain.

This is way to easy! What the hell happend over there?

Probably had to go to sleep, the sun has just set on their empire :)

Althougth early across the pond I was still surprised to see that I was the only member on, then I remembered the date.
Hope you had a good day guys.

Brian

Thanks for the well wishes! It was an amazing day, here in Houston the weather seemed to clear up especially for the day. ;)

It is my grandfather's birthday as well, so it just made it 10 times more fantastic.

Re: Yes Americans!!

Now that sounds like the way to celebrate the making of the movie Independance Day :D

I trust you had fireworks later?

By the way, Happy 4th July America

Thanks Ouma!

Or we can ignore those parts and continue on with the original intent of the thread. :D

Had a wonderful 4th celebration with friends and family. Weather was cool but then it usually is here in the Upper Left Corner. And to all my British (and English) friends, cheers!
