Seeking a Moderator for the Moderators

The more reason for further analises. Several cannot all be wrong. Start a poll on the topic. There's nothing good about preserving toxic content in plain view. I think AWF would be better off removing it.
Thanks, "Bruce"

I learned a long time ago (but not soon enough) that sometimes you need to simply accept someone’s opinion of you and move on. Change what you have the capacity and desire to change and be the grownup in the room.

We currently have 21 members online. That is more than a handful.

You don't see sites like Stack Exchange and GitHub tolerating toxic social content.
So maybe you should spend more time there to avoid this toxic environment. The rest of us will weather out our Stockholm Syndrome in your absence...

To summarise, I think AWF would be better off limiting its content to technical related posts. You don't see sites like Stack Exchange and GitHub tolerating insults, arrogance, personal attacks, bullying, trolling, and entitlement.
To summarize: I've learned nothing about toxicity, and will continue to give Jon unsolicited business advice.

Don't even THINK about telling me that is Frank from UA fame?! Uhhhhh
I hope you're wrong

I was trying to solve the puzzle "Who Frank is?" And all of a sudden "Bruce" joined too.

You literally don't even want to know. Frank was just an awful persona that terrorized UA for years but I don't think this is Frank, thank God

I feel a little bit bad that I even posted that last thing, but out of humility I won't delete it. Maybe Frank was going through something really difficult in life that made him the way he was, and I hope he is doing well, wherever he is now.

I remember UA's owner Gord Hubbell banning several well known members, including @ColinEssex, over trivial petty posts.
Could you elaborate on that statement please?
For the record, I have never been a member of UA. Although years ago there were some pretty spiteful characters here on AWF who may have used my username to tarnish my good character. (Not Pat)

I joined UA in 2008-09 under a different handle, (no, not Frank). I remember UA's owner Gord Hubbell banning several well known members, including @ColinEssex, over trivial petty posts.
Perhaps you were confusing @ColinEssex with myself. We are both from the UK but aren't the same person!
I was banned from UA (my username at that time was ridders) around 2019.
Apparently it was for questioning why the owner had censored some posts in a thread both by myself and the OP. The gist was that I had mentioned this forum by name in an answer but because I questioned the owner's actions, he banned me and deleted all my posts.

If you and Frank aren't the same person, perhaps you should clarify what username you were using at UA over all those years!

Hmmm...

I seem to remember there was also an Isaac who behaved much the same on UA and was also banned.

I never terrorized anybody, my posts on UA were well behaved - in fact, I was VIP. until I got into a tiff with the moderators for how terrible they treated newcomers. It was because of that tiff that I was instantly banned, not any pattern of behavior. I am very open about the fact that I was banned from UA, and have brought it up several times, it's nothing hidden. In fact, I'm proud of myself that I stood up for someone who was being victimized by Jack Leach's awful arrogant and well known behavior toward newcomers who knew less than him. (apparently we know now why he was such a jerk - he was a *********).

I'll try to take a breath right now and not get upset, but I'm not sure why you would even say that. You know I got banned, but you're saying something completely and utterly untrue - I never misbehaved at UA, and IF you know the situation, then you know full well why I got banned - because I spoke up and said something pretty mean about Jack and another super moderator, which was to basically tell them they were acting like jerks to newcomers. I was instantly banned at that point. Prior to that I was a valued member, contributing substantially to the site and not only asking questions, especially in the Excel VBA forum. Prior to that speaking-up, I was a perfectly good member in good standing for a very long time - Years. My banning came because of a sudden speaking-up to defend a new comer who was being mistreated, not beaause I "behaved much the same on UA". I was a valued member for years.

So I"m not sure why you are taking this opportunity to slander me in an untrue way, but I'll let it go, because "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change". 🙏

Maybe you are just having a bad day and need to take it out on someone. I hope your day gets better!

Looks like UA had some bann-ers with trigger happy fingers. I tried to defend a newcomer who Jack was mistreating and got an instant and permanent ban, prior to that I was a VIP for years.
