Bash Ken thread

Ken kills for sport not food:mad:

Ahh.. me stupid - I thought you were going down a different route - i'll shut up then

i don't have a problem with killing animals to eat -but just for sport seems well a bit iffy ...

Kill a deer (part of the cull0 and eat the meat - i have some of that,- kill the deer - and thats it - no , not my idea of fun

Australian men seem to spend more time trying to prove it by telling everyone how macho they are. As do the women.

I was saying Ken has to kill his own food because civilisation is scant in the south, - i.e modern civilisation (like supermarkets etc) seems to have bypassed the southern USA, so therefore they need to resort to primitive methods of survival.

Yes, our meat is killed in a hygenic controlled area - not by some wannabe Wyatt Earp (like Ken) running round like some kid wielding a rifle.

Col

Of course we don't have supermarkets. Why pay for something you can hunt much cheaper? Hygenic controlled? We call our grilled 'coon and possum organic, no preservatives added.

but is it tasty ??

Them's good eatin'

In the UK, a coon is a slang name for a black person.

Col

I thought you guys were a more tolerant country than that. It sounds to me like you are the ones not moving forward in society.

No, it isn't, Tess.

Actually, that was a reference to an old Monty Python skit, where two men argue ridiculously.
Oddly enough, you provided the next line of the skit.

"No it isn't "
"Yes it is"
"No it isn't"
"Yes it is"

But no one seemed to catch it.
Perhaps it was much too subtle of a reference.

:D

Its old slang - about 20-25 years old - it isn't used any more other than a point of reference to the old days

Yes, we've moved so far forward that the Hitler youth now run the country:mad::rolleyes:

If it's not part of a regulated cull then I say put the hunter on the other side of the barrel and see how he likes it.
So it's OK to kill hunters but wrong to kill animals?

Seems to be that way! I think this is a symptom of our mamsy pamsy politically correct nanny state! It always seems ok when the oppressor becomes the oppressed somehow - two wrongs make a right, right???

with bull fighting - i am always wanting the bull to get a few people before they get him - and this makes me quite happy

although i am against bull fighting - but if those idiots want to stand in front of a bull - good luck to the bull -

a bit like the polar bear in Germany which bite a woman for swimming in its pool - good on the bear - (stupid woman)

Yep. and that cretin who climbed into the wolf enclosure in London zoo, years back. I think there was also someone in the lion enclosure, a bit more recently.

I'd have a bit more sympathy with hunters if they did it bare-handed, as even if they caught something they wouldn't come out of it feeling quite so macho, but even then the animal involved isn't choosing to take part. There was a comedian who said that calling hunting a sport is like walking up behind someone at a bus stop, punching them in the back of the head and calling it boxing.

Animals don't kill for fun, so if somebody thinks it's fun to kill just for kicks sure, let them see how it feels.

And why not? Let them know what its like to be on the other side.

Sorry, I can't answer that one, I've gone fishing. :p Presumably nobody has any complaints about me sticking a hook through a fishes little face, dragging it from it's natural environment and watching it gasp for breath while I find a stone or something to bash it's little brains in with

Why do you presume that? :)
Plenty of people have a problem with fishing for exactly those reasons, it's just not as contentious as hunting, possibly because fishermen/women don't tend to think they're particularly tough because they do it (and I've never heard one boast about how they catch a fish with each cast in the same way that you'll hear hunters bragging about what an excellent shot they consider themselves to be).

.

Farmers who have had chickens slaughtered by a fox might dispute this.

As to Ken's hunting this has been discussed several times in the past, noticeably after I called all hunters for fun perverts, however Ken hunts by license as part of game control, and does indeed eat the kill, or so we have been told.
