Democrats really distort narratives. Illegal immigrants enter this country without following "due process". The Biden administration has opened the border and refuses to deport those entering the country illegally. Yet Durbin brings out the crying towel to assert "deprive immigrants of the due process that everyone is afforded.

Conceptually, without thinking too deeply, Durbin's comment has superficial appeal, but why should illegal immigrants have unfettered endless due process that will never get them deported? The Biden administration is not enforcing immigration laws and is even (illegally) paying lawyers to obstruct the ability of government to deport illegal immigrants. The Biden administration is destroying the "rule of law" by turning it into a convoluted Byzantine pretzel where there actually is no law.

Editorial aside to this story: Biden (falsely) claimed that the Senate border bill that just failed to get approved by the Senate would have made the border secure. That raises a couple of eyebrows. Biden is not enforcing current law, so why would he enforce a new law?

The Democratic controlled Senate, probably under the direction of Biden, refused to take-up a Republican bill to secure the border. Biden and the Democrats do not discuss that this proposed Republican bill is simply gathering dust.

If Biden really wanted to secure the border, he would have encouraged the Democrats to take it up and negotiate with the Republicans. Biden in his SOTU speech played a word game with the gullible public. Biden stated that the border question was non-partisan. He then called on Republicans to to work with Democrats to get the Senate bill passed. If Biden actually meant non-partisan, Biden should have called on the Democrats to work with the Republicans to pass the already submitted Republican border bill. Biden is playing disingenuous word games with the public. Biden does not want the border secured.

I have seen videos of interviews (and congressional hearings) where it is clear that Biden doesn't need new legislation, he already has laws in place that could be used to flat-out close the border. Right now, no waiting for approval. The border is open because the progressive liberals want it open. No further questions needed.

Fully agree. Nevertheless, what do you think of the claims by the Democrats (Durbin) that we must follow the rule-of-law when it comes to deporting them, but the Democrats openly violate the rule-of-law by allowing illegal immigrants to enter this country illegally?

It is about what I've come to expect.

Their "logic" is always designed to make "you" feel like you're the racist, bigot or whatever pejorative is required by the situation.
