export to excel from report preview not working (1 Viewer)

Hello! Happy New Year!

Question:

I have this one report (doesn't happen on others in the same mdb) that when a user (or me) presses the export to excel button while viewing the report in preview mode the process doesn't export the data to an xls file. The wizard runs, the process completes, a new file is made... but no records?!?

Oddly, there is many records in preview mode... The export creates the xls file, but there is only the report column headers in the file - and no records.

What gives? I can't figure this one out. Thoughts?

Don't export report to excel, ...
Export query to excel
Or
Export report to PDF.

Hello,

Yes, I agree that would be a better way, export query to excel file...

But I'm choosing to beat my head against the wall for a few minutes here in hopes of understanding why this one report doesn't work as the others do.

It's a commercial MS Access contact management/meeting tracking app that my org bought a bunch of years ago, so I'm trying to see what's the difference with this report, vs the (seriously) 100+ reports that do take to the export to excel from print preview as expected.

I didn't know if there was a known list of 'reasons' why this wouldn't work...
