I had a nice day, had 6 cards - went shopping with 'er indoors, got a new mobile phone (our old contract was nearly up) - then chilled, then my mate came over last night and we had a jam session on the guitars.

My mate has an American made white USA Strat (£650) - me? I can't afford American stuff so my bass is made in Indonesia. We played The Shadows stuff (Apache, Wonderful Land etc) and some blues and Jazz and some rock-n-roll.

Barry - I was in Spain 2 weeks ago. We were in Zaragoza - north east of Madrid about 200kms.

I was in Alicante in the worst September weather in living memory, slap bang in the middle of our holiday! Rain, storms and cold winds off the sea. Very strange to emerge on the sunny days from a warm Med in hot sunshine and freeze in the wind! Our unheated pool went from tropical to arctic in the space of a week.

Never mind it was great to get away to a country where you can still afford to live and a pleasure to stroll around a city on a Saturday night at midnight, along with Spanish families without fear of getting mugged or being surrounded by mindless, drunken yobs like we have in the UK.

Rule Britannia my A*** (that would be a three letter word for our American chums)
