I'm ashamed of our government

I repeat, the easiest answer to all of this is to reduce the human population - starting with non-smokers who are obvious tax avoiders!!!!!
It seems that smokers are doing a great job in killing themselves:D

Whats the Aussie car industry doing - and whats the aussies policies on carbon emissions. Worse than the US!

Back to the wine - I saw a bottle of aussie reserve (ie some of the btter stuff) the label said it was good with a sausage caserole or minty lamb burger.

The problem with the strength of the aussie dollar - is that most aussie produce is bought cos its cheap - whether it be housing, coal, Timorese oil , wine etc

When the cheapness/value has gone - so has the reason to buy anything australian.

Yeah well, at least we don't have to print money to pay our way our way in the world

Our car industry did not need a government bail-out

Wine-wise, you have obviously never heard of Grange or any of the great Margaret River reds! Oh well, more for me

You see - your kidding yourself - on the fact that Australia pays its way in the world, look at stealing Timorese rescources, or its appaling record on Carbon emissions , or its lack of effort in Afganistan - and its clear that Australia is nothing more than a parasitic bludger.
The statement that your finances are in order just makes the above more offensive.

This delusion is futher manifested in the belief that Australia has a real car industry , or that aussie cheap plonk, is anything other than aussie cheap plonk.

So, do I take it then that you wont be paying us a visit?
Our dissapointment will only be matched by our complete indifference

Nope - your wrong again - I'm over in Feb. I'm sure I'll have a lovely time - doesn't make australias international policies any better though.

It should be hot in Feb don't forget your factor 50, especially if your youngun is with you.

Brian

It was the heat that bothered her last time at 6 months old, had to use medicare to go see the doc about her eczema / heat rash.

Cheers

Adam,
I have to agree with you. What I don’t understand is why some people in this country cannot see how phony they are. For example, Nancy P. Claims to be a defender of union. Yet her and her husband own hotels and vineyards and will not allow unions anywhere near their business. She wants to limit the private jets of CEO, and yet she jets back and forth on Air Force jets at tax payers’ expense. Al Gore claim to want to reduce energy use yet his house use 10 times what mine does. Obama campaigned on no pork and he has as much pork as any other president. Harry R. claims he is for the people but he does everything behind closed doors. He says this ObamaCare is for the good of the people, but won’t give the people time to study it. If they would let me add one sentence to any of there ObamaCare bills I would grantee a 100% no vote. Here is the sentence. “All Senators, Representatives, President and Vice President would also have to be under the same plan.” If I criticize Obama I am a racist, but actually stupid has no color etc. Jimmy Carter.
To answer Rich at the same time, yes I am not fond of some off the things Bush did, but at least he wasn’t trying to lead us socialist, quite as fast. Please notice I added “quite as fast. There are some republicans that I am ashamed of also. Well I guess that is not fair, as they are actually Rinos.

I guess it would be fair to say you are not a Democrat, eh? Let me ask you a question. Do you feel that a person's income level should have a damn thing to do with the level of health care they get? You are sitting pretty there with your medical plan from the Navy. And you have the nerve to suggest you are a minister? All of the complaints you have against the Dems, let me mention one thing that tops all of that: George W Bush took us to war based on lies that he and his lackey's invented. War! It's now a proven fact. How many thousands have perished in Iraq because of this dimwit. And the ignorant sonsabitches keep defending him. You people say you are ashamed of your government? Where were you when Bush was perpetuating this bullsh*t? You think this is the kind of sh*t that makes America great? JHFC, I can't believe there are that many people in this country that are this ignorant. And all you can find to whine about is what the current Dems are doing? Whine about the health care fiasco? You probably don't believe in global climate change either, do you? You probably think our ancestors ran with the dinosaurs.

I give up.

This country is doomed.

Yes, lying to the public is such a great thing.

I'm sorry Friday, I have come to realize that politicians have to lie to the public. It's inevitable. I have also come to realize that positions where the job description says simply "keep my job", also require the ability to lie. Because politicians fall into that category and spend every waking moment trying to keep their job, thus they have to lie. So I don't blame em!

Here is a tidbit my daughter sent.

A Joke.... or something:
------------------------------------------------------
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their
new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish
history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this
to (unverified) say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000
years earlier:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;

2. From spiritual faith to great courage;

3. From courage to liberty;

4. From liberty to abundance;

5. From abundance to complacency;

6. From complacency to apathy;

7. From apathy to dependence;

8. From dependence back into bondage"

Maybe Igor Panarin isn't all that crazy:"As if Things Weren't Bad Enough, Russian Professor Predicts End of U.S."

Will the UK re-adopt us?

Actually, the real problem, as in most counties, is that we vote in anybody who promises us the biggest tax cuts, whether they are affordable or not.

Very shortly, the US citizens will have to take on board that like all 'empires' of the past, they have fallen from grace and will become minor players

Really, because I would hardly consider Rome or Great Britain "minor" players.

For nearly 2000 year after the fall Rome still has influence in the lives of over a billion people.

And Great Britain stills has 007.

I won't argue with that. That's about all we have in Washington anymore. :(
