Let's see... Canada and Australia are both still British Commonwealths are they niot? And in that they still owe fealty to the Monarch? Does that make them part of the UK?
I wish! No, the commonwealth is something completely separate from the UK. Once upon a time commonwealth countries "belonged" to the United Kingdoms of Great Britain or the British Empire, however, we lost our greatness very soon after we lost our Empress. It is difficult for Mr or Mrs Average to go settle in the Channel Islands which still scream that they are British, when it suits. Much the same as Scotland want to do at some point. Fair weather Britian appears to be the way to go, but don't take that literally, we're declaring a drought here just because it hasn't rained in a week!
