Irn Bru - made in Scotland from girders - allegedly a great hang-over cure but since no-one in Scotland drinks alcohol how do they knowAye, they even, finally, got their hands on our irn bru!!! - ah, there's one for the TV spot, the best ads ever, the irn bru ads![]()
The English round my neck of the woods don't drink enough to get hangovers and I never get them (smirk smirk)They test in on the English, and the odd Exiled Scot![]()

Not all of them. I was extremely lucky to have an employer who was happy to let me bring my little girl to work whenever she was on holiday. I had full time staff to look after her, but she preferred to come to work with me, in the toy distributors![]()
Going back to the 80's when I ran a dept of 95% females - I had 148 on my staff. I would hardly ever employ a married woman of child bearing age. I knew that if they got up-the-duff they would scarper off on mat leave and (being the NHS) I always had to get the other girls to cover, no extra staff.
There was always 3 or 4 on mat leave at any time.
I often thought twice if they had an engagement ring on at interview.
The reason being that women wanted to be independent and in many cases the kids were 'latch key kids', women wanted a career and were not content with doing what they're here for.Now look where it's got us.

Well the likes of George etc. will recall it was actually WW1 that brought the delicate female body into the workplaceAs I recall, it was WWII which forced women into the workplace, a war that was started by MEN as I believe.
I've stayed with mine for over 27yrs, best boss I've ever hadSurely you're not one of those geeks that has stayed with the same company all your working life! I'm surprised I've managed six years in this one![]()
That is correct in Britain but remember our american friends took a little time to participate in the world wars. As the US didn't join WW1 until 1917 they probably didnt have time to get many women into the labour force.Well the likes of George etc. will recall it was actually WW1 that brought the delicate female body into the workplace
Nah my mother was my first boss, I even cursed her, but of course then it had to be under the breath, and for some strange reason she even knew when I was doing itOMG! Is it the only boss you ever hadI thought there were laws agains child labour, never mind fetal labour
