As to when trolling should become illegal, IMO it would have to be based on when the trolling segues into active, provable harm. And MAN is that a dangerous area to begin treading.

Doxxing just publishes the info. Swatting uses it to bring the cops in shooting.

Yes, I understand that. What I was getting at is that could you classify extreme doxing as a form of SWATTING? Let's say someone had a price on their head. Everybody was out to get them and they were wildly reviled by society. The vigilantes are in town! If you dox a name, you have increased their vulnerability. If you dox their home address, they are at even greater risk. If you dox their precise location, they are effectively as good as dead.

Perhaps extreme doxing would come under "aiding and abetting."

What happens if you dox a troll?

I keep posting things because I want people to get lost in the maze of threads, and they are unable to find the exit door of Access World! They become prisoners despite having free will.

Hmm, there's that handly little close browser button for just such occassions.

I wanted to get a small boat with a trolling motor so could go fishing. Should that be illegal? :)

More an included crime. You need the same info either way.

Doxxing just publishes the info. Swatting uses it to bring the cops in shooting, but people have been swatted without being doxxed when the person doing the swatting was also the person who found the address.
But doesn't doxxing help getting swatted ? If 200 people know your info (Since it is visible on the web), they all can call for an emergency to that address... like a physical ddos of your front door.

Doxxing is hoping someone you don't like politically gets injured, physically or otherwise . You also don't care about their family. I mean lets not candy coat it.

My dad and I used to go trolling in an area on the eastern end of New Orleans. Can't go there any more (not that I would because I've lost interest) but it was a good memory. As I recall, we were catching some fresh-water (or brackish-water) varieties. I could be wrong but I recall Dad calling them "white perch" and they weren't very big. Now it has been converted into a wildlife preserve so no fishing.

What is your view?
are you sure you're not talking about "post count obsession"? Is there a difference between the 2? speaking of which, I always thought these guys were trolls. but apparently some are not....

Do you mean a troll is obsessed with post counts?

As is typical, Adam, you attempt to divert the thread from its original direction to one of your choosing. And that IS the behavior of someone who is either narcissistic or trolling.

Where are the rules for the Watercooler? I get the structured tech threads should remain on topic, but where exactly does it say that for the Watercooler?

Here is the only information I have found.
Sit back, relax, make new friends and discuss all your non-MS Access issues here!

Edit: maybe it should be updated to this;
Sit back, relax, make new friends and discuss all your non-MS Access issues here! And stay on topic you effing troll!

Adam made an observation; I made an observation.

no, Jon. I was referring to a comment made by one of the other members. that's all. I don't know what a troll is, nor do I know why a post count matters.
