This site has been a pain today , it keeps freezing as I try to use it, all other sites are ok so don't think it's my end.

Wow I thought I am the only one facing this problem.. I also had a strange "Database error" today (and sometime earlier this week)..

I have the screenshot on my work computer..

Yes, its been bad today. I notified my host and they just said, "I monitored the server last hours, it is fine and all domain loading fine. We will monitor the server."

Its all very well monitoring the server but what is causing it in the first place.

Still loading slowly for me. When I first logged in, I was taken to the "Successfully logged in (click here if your browser does not automatically redirect you)" landing page. It sat there for a minute before a 3rd party survey popup appeared. When I clicked the X on it, it took me to the survey site anyway... Clicking the browser's Back button kept looping me back to the survey site so I had to enter the forum address directly in the address bar.

Don't know if it's related, but I'm not getting email notifications anymore. The site is erratic speed-wise.

RossWindows, do you know what the survey was about?

pbaldy, when did you stop getting email notifications and for what are you expecting to get a notification?

Seems like the last day or so, but I've gotten 2 or 3 now, so might have been a glitch. I normally get them for responses on subscribed threads. Don't worry about it, since I seem to be getting them again.

Thanks for updating me pbaldy. About 20 minutes ago I got about 400 emails saying problems with mysql connections. Not sure if its someone trying to hack the site or problems with my host.

Oddly enough I just got some notification emails for posts made several hours ago. Don't know if they were delayed at your end or gmail's, but they are coming.

I'm onto my host again but no reply yet. They say they will monitor it but I am sure they aren't.

I feel sorry for you Jon as there appears to be little that you can do , but an unresponsive site could easily deter first time users if not older hands.

We might be narrowing down the problem. I hope to get some answers real soon now.

Think I have solved it now. It was to do some an overly large htaccess file that was created using a particular plugin. Things seem a lot zippier now. Spent days on this. Feel totally peed off! :(
