I just finished visiting my parents, my dad is 85. I was hit by a pessimistic streak mentally when I was talking to him, he just had this vibe that was kinda saying, without saying, "I'm glad I'm leaving this world soon - I've seen enough - good luck to these next generations!".
You know, sometimes just for a moment, although I'm usually a reasonably positive person.
It happened at a funny (and admittedly, more trivial) part of the conversation when we were talking about modesty in clothing. I was telling him something he didn't know was the case - how hard it is to find a pair of men's shorts that are as long as the normal cargo short used to be, especially if you are shopping as a young person in places like H&M, Hollister, F-21 etc. Not that this is a great example, because I don't care much if a man wears longer or shorter shorts, but it IS frustrating for my own self to have to search for stylish shorts that aren't 'short'. Funny.
