I have managed to export data from Access to Excel, create a pivot table and pivotchart and save the chart as an image using the "xlApp.ActiveChart.Export "Chart.GIF", "GIF"" command. This works fine and I get the chart correctly (as you can see on the attached file Chart1.GIF). However, now I am trying to put this into a report as an embedded image ...however the colours of the chart are being discarded for some reason and looks a mess (as you can see on the attached file report.GIF).

If you can give me some ideas abt this problem, I'd appreciate it very much. Or maybe is there a better way to do it? exporting charts from Excel to Access report ?

Thanks!

Note sure I have an answer but some things perhaps to try

1. Does Chart1.gif look Ok if you open it in MS Paint or similar program?
2. Try changing your default printer in access and/or changing settings related to quality.
3. Export the file as a .jpeg and see if you get the same problem.
4. Try inserting any old .gif or .jpg into your access report to see if you get teh same problem

Basically trying to decide whether it is Excel or Access is the problem.

BTW I assume you know that you can get rid of the fields in teh chart by right-mouse and select "hide fields"
