People who get offended and people who think forum decorum is important should simply stay out of the Watercooler and Political forum.

Nice logic there. People who think forum decorum is important should stay out of a forum.

Because some of us used to enjoy the company this section of the forum presented, before this ridiculous bitch and moan fest took over. ;)

I don't really work in Access anymore, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate the friends I've made here, including Colin and you. The years have passed, and look where we are today. :( 5-6 years ago, we would still be joking around.

On a lifetime ago... :D

Quite right.
I don't use Access much anymore either...... but that doesn't mean I have to leave you all behind, does it?

Bite your tongue! How dare you cast aspersions on my chosen profession! I would never be like one of THEM! (LOL)

Uh..... looks like I've gone to the dark side myself.
I use SQL almost exclusively in my job now. But ouma is right, we all come from the same seed. Does this mean you are Anakin's child and I am Darth Vader's now?

;)

LOL, I was totally jesting. I fit the mold Ouma described perfectly. I'm a mish-mash of this DB, that DB, and even Access. It all depends on who is paying for what.

Sweet.

Ouma, You have to go and click on that boxing match link. I've been revisiting it myself and ... lol... it was no boxing match, believe me. It actually turned into a pretty interesting thread. Although, a lot of my guts are hanging out in that one.

:)

Good Lord.... how much I've shared!
But that is the forum of the past I joined and continue to visit in hopes of recapturing the cameraderie of yesterday.

I'm pretty much in SQL exclusively myself, although I still use Access as a shell if I need VBA to make it easier for my teammates to work. :D

I'm pretty much in SQL...

Me too with .net instead of MS Access. I bet there are a bunch of people on these boards who could fix up these deleted accounts if admin access to the database was available.

There are many thousands more from when the site's been hacked

Well, if that is possible, then at least they could probably produce a report showing all of the orphaned posts grouped by the defunct user ID. That way if any posts were absolutely attributable to a particular member, the user IDs could be modified to reflect the proper User ID. I am sure that there is at least one User ID (with 20,000 Posts +/-) that could easily be identified and modified.

I think the posts in question were deleted

Mea Culpa. I thought I had read where the User was removed and the Posts were orphaned.

The incident Rich speaks of is a different one. A few years ago, we lost thousand upon thousands of posts due to a hacker. I used to be over 10,000... :D
