I would like to formally welcome to the team two new moderators: @The_Doc_Man and @theDBguy. Both are helpful, standup guys who I think will serve the community well.

If you think these are good appointments, please give the thumbs up. If you think laughable, give a laughy one. Thumbs down for the haters! And feel free to reply to this thread with your comments.

I would also like to say thank you for this opportunity. I hope there's no hazing involved. :)

Whilst sad to no longer be a moderator myself, I'm pleased to see both DBG and tDM take on the role. Both will I know be excellent.

I had to look up the Latin phrase in the last post...but I'm still no wiser

"Thus always to tyrants." Usually chanted after a change of leadership. Historical connotation includes some discord during the change.

Ditto - notwithstanding that Google says it's Tyrannis. Maybe that's a reason for any confusion as it seems that if taken verbatim it might mean something else but I don't want to go down that rabbit hole.

I hope the new mods are going to earn 2x what they were already earning!

In re: Tyranus - True enough, Micron, but there is no Latin word closer than tyrannis. And since I took Latin in high school, I recognize the phrase even if it was spelled wrong. "Sic" = Thus "Semper" = always, "Tyrannis" = (ablative case: TO) tyrants.

I'm ALWAYS down rabbit holes except when they are rabbi holes due to an overzealous spell checker.

Can't recall if the rabbi/rabbit thing was your joke but I did laugh regardless. There were some Tyrannus links that might have been songs, bands or just misspellings, so I quit when I think I got the drift.

As long as we don't delve into the sound of one hand clapping....

While I rarely have a prepared speech, no one has EVER accused me of being at a loss for words. Usually it is the opposite accusation.
