which colours to use to make your database to look like more profesional?
what are the best combination? what you suggest?

do you have any other suggestions?

Rather than making your own, take a look at the Themes with the newer versions of Access. From 2013 on, themes are the way to go. If you find a theme you like, you can swap individual colors but keep in mind that they whole set of colors works together and they complement each other or at least don't clash.

If you do your own, use pastels if you color your backgrounds and avoid color combinations that people who are color blind have trouble with such as red and green. Avoid garish colors and lots of colors on one form. They are jarring to look at.

I will say I find black on yellow the best colour for drawing attention to something on screen. I tried white on red, and white on green, but they weren't so good. Green rarely seems to display well.

In the old DOS days I used to prefer yellow on blue.
To me that was a good contrast and easy to read.
