What do Americans make of this?

Who's running the show? Who yanks us in line when we stray aroung here - ?

One of the mods a list of them can be found somewhere if you are interested, but their had is less officious than the guy your thinking of.

Kind of like adults again..?

Back on topic... Seems the teacher was just trying to kill two birds with one stone, learn the pledge and keep the kids interested in learning English 'cause the other languages are so darn hard to learn :)
Give the teachers a break, anybody that takes the job of babysitting kids all day deserves a little elbo room :)

It is the age of being political correct. It is no longer possible to give teachers or anyone else a break. Break implies an action that might be violent.
Then you really do it!

Justifying a civil servant's action of killing a pair of birds in such a terrible way. LOL

Thanks Ken for the short but entertaining flashback. - opps that wasn't PC either.

Its all a bunch of whiney babies and media spin hoping to fester a story they scooped. Hope our lives don't go under the microscope... 'Oh dear, my great grandmother's second cousin once had a french guy give her the eye, such trama... How dare you serve my kids french fries in school...' blah, blah, blah...

Because English is the language of official business e.g. Legislation , regulation, and thus it is important that citizens have a sufficient grasp of the language.

Brian

Brian you do know that language is the biggest piece that holds a country together. When you start to break down the language into sections then that breeds suspicion, etc. Check in the latest socialist 'how-to-turn a democracy into a socialist state' blog for current agenda for the USA.

English is the language of America and that is it. If someone has a 2nd or 3rd.... and they want to speak it fine. If they are going to do business with me, it will be in English. Period.

Blade

Blade if I read your posts correctly you say that Democrats won't fight unless it is in their backyard.

Who took you into WW1 - Democrat
Who took you into WW2 - Democrat
Who decided to use the Atomic bomb - Democrat
Who took you into the Korean War - Democrat
Who took you into Vietnam - Democrat
Who forced the Cuban missile crises - Democrat Ah! That is your own back yard.

Brian
16 wars for the democrats, 10 for the republicans.

Blade

Language? Huh, then sociologists must have it all wrong, since they tend to say it tends to be shared values, culture (of which language is just a part), and beliefs that bind nations together.

That must be why there's so much fighting in the Ukraine - because those stupid rebels just won't stop speaking Russian and refuse to speak the glorious Ukrainian!

Seriously, that Blade line Connor quoted will probably be the most idiotic thing I'll read all day.

You should really unblock Blade,

He replies to your posts :D but you never see them!

But I'm still pretty sure its just rock, clay, dirt and all those elements ;)

There is absolutely no point in talking with Blade. He's a right-wing extremist racist conspiracy theorist with one of the most closed minds I have ever encountered, who does nothing but preach hatred and intolerance. He has made it completely clear he has neither respect for those who disagree with him nor tolreance for those different from him. Not only is he utterly unwilling to accept that any assertion he makes can possibly be incorrect, but he's perfectly willing to misrepresent his 'facts' and straight-up lie about them if he feels that doing so would somehow help his point.

Trust me when I say we are all better off if I don't ever again speak to or hear from him directly.

Speaking of rock and dirt ... here is a tweet that won "Most beautiful tweet competition":

"I believe we can build a better world! Of course, it'll take a whole lot of rock, water & dirt. Also, not sure where to put it."

I can't believe that won, I've seen so much better. But I guess they relate to my sense of humour :p
