Back in '77-'78, my school pushed the "We're going metric!" narrative hard. We spent months learning about it, how to do the conversions, blah, blah blah. It died (un-noticed) on the vine and life went on.

It wasn't until I lived abroad that I realized how we missed an opportunity to adopt a much simpler way of life...

We watched him back in the day, he never failed to give us a good chuckle.

He was shown on cable but I don't recall him being on the broadcast channels in New Orleans.

Not familiar with Red Dwarf. The clip did mention PBS. Pretty sure that is where we picked up on Benny Hill. PBS was carrying some British humor like Keeping Up Appearances and others.
