Xmas is here at last.

I can think of lots of words to describe Hitler but "funny" would not be on the list.

In the film and play "The Producers", Mel Brooks creates a fictional musical comedy called Springtime for Hitler. By his own admission he chose this as he realized there was nothing funny about the man or the Nazis. It was a deliberate dive into the realm of bad taste.

Who said that Hitler was funny?

They did have smart uniforms though. The Gestapo one is particularly dashing in it's cut, and use of what could be a fairly drab colour.

George Peppard always looked particularly good in one. As did Sinatra and Eastwood.

I think if WW2 was about tailoring, the Germans would have won hands down. The British RAF always looks good, but sadly the Americans were always lacking in the tailoring league.

I completely agree, if you are going to a fancy dress party and want to dress up in period costume Nazi Gestapo is always the best bet.

Ask Prince William ...

Surely you are forgetting his time as a comedy actor. How did anyone managed to keep a straight face during the Nuremburg rallies?:D

The Nazi PR machine was one of the most successful in recent memory.
