I believe in the statement "Live and let live." If someone needs help, give it. It doesn't matter who or what that person is. Humans are humans. We all put pants on the same way, one leg at a time. I was raised a Christian, but when I was in college I had no God. Some Christians have money as their God. There's no discrimination there. Yet the minute you mention an Eastern religion, all hell breaks loose. Humans have the right to choose their religion, so why all these crappy discriminating words? As long as no person is being harmed by my choice, no one has a right to challenge that choice. If I choose to have sex as my God, that's my business, not yours.

kind of like living in a religious community, going to church on Sunday and proclaiming that you are being discriminated against because the preacher will not teach at least for a period of time(during the Sunday worship) that there is no God! I once was in NY where I, as the gentleman I am, opened a taxi door for a female (lady in the south). She cussed me up and down because I was a sexist and because she happened to be black, I was a racist as well. All because I opened the taxi door for her. Needless to say, I was glad when I left NY not ever to return again. In the south, it is bred into each male that the female is to be respected at all times. Here opening a door is a courtesy and her response will be"Thank You", unless you run into to one of those "liberated" people from the North or Europe. Don't know about Australia?

On the 14th of February 1966, and I can still remember the day this Country changed from Pounds Shillings and Pence to Dollars and Cents. My Grand Parents could not understand the new currency and never did.

I don't remember the year because it was a slow change, say 1970 we changed to Decimal from Imperial. Litres instead of Gallons Metres instead of Yards. I still have difficulty with some things. Mainly small measurements. I can still look at a piece of timber and tell you it is a 6 x 4 and 3/8th thick. But in Metric I have to get a measure. This is what we learnt in school and this is what I used as an apprentice. Not all people of my age are in the same boat but a lot are depending on what they did in their younger years.

I have a VCR with Clint Eastwood, A fist full of Dollars or one of his old Westerns. It still carries the rating of "R". Restricted to over 18. There is no swearing, not even the word "Bloody". It was simply too violent. He shot about 20 or so people, but you never even saw any blood.

Things have changed and will continue to change. You will realise that as you grow older and wiser. Not every thing changes at the same rate. But rest assured they will change. What you have to worry about is who is pushing for these changes and more importantly why.

Have a look at the Communist Manifesto. One of the 10 points in order for the Government to control the people is to break down the Family unit. This has been very successful here and I would also think in most western countries. Divorce rates are so high these days. A lot of people do not even bother to marry to save the problems associated with divorce. One of the things they did was to introduce Non Fault divorce. Once upon a time you had to prove adultery in order to get divorced. Now all you have to do is separate for 12 months and divorce is granted.

When I was a lad we had Bachelors and Spencers. I though that these were people who could not find a partner to marry. These days just about ever sit com has a Gay couple and it is accepted without question. I might just add that they are always nice clean fun loving people. The only people who do bad things are heterosexuals.

I said all that to say this. The changes you seek will happen in time. Just sit back and wait for it to happen. There will always be old farts like myself who don't embrace change. But not to worry because we will all be gone before you know it. Then you will be the ones sitting back saying that things are changing too fast, or I don't agree with that.

As far as religion is concerned there is a lot of good to be said about it and a lot of the opposite. I don't know where it is going but it is changing. It used to be a sin to eat red meat on Fridays. Now it is only Good Friday.

The most import thing I want to see changed is for Catholic Priests to Marry. There are too many incidences of young boys been abused sexually by Catholic Priests.

I think we will always have religion. There is something in peoples minds that require some sense of belonging or perhaps simply a crutch to lean on. If religion was to go it would soon be replaced by something similar. Perhaps tribes that eventually fight amongst each other. These days we call them gangs.

Sorry for the long winded rant. It is 4:00 AM and I can't sleep.

Question One. Sex is an important and natural function of every human. God said, "Be fruitful and multiply" How the Catholic Church decide that it knows better than what it taught in its own Bible I don't know. So that is a big yes from me. If you can't do what nature intended then you must find a different outlet for those frustrations.

Again the Bible classes Homosexuality as an abomination. (Please don't ask me to say where) so that is a big NO.

I am anti Homosexuality as you may have guessed. I just can't see the pleasure. I have been to the Doctor and I certainly did not enjoy that.

Did you know that many homosexuals have to wear a nappy to catch things because their mussels are so badly damaged. BTW I can't condone that type of interaction among heterosexuals. I would think 99% of women agree.

I am happy not to teach Gods word to you because you would not believe in the end regardless of what I said. If you want to change the whole world to gayism then do it by getting the majority to agree with you and thus have the ability to change any laws instead of using the courts to force it down our throats.

As far as moving elsewhere, people do it all the time. Look at the Northeast coast of the U.S.. It is covered with a huge majority of liberals. If they want gays to marry in their state it is fine with me. I do not plan on going back up there any time soon. I am down here where most of the people are conservative. I am simply saying as gays liberals, there an many states that look forward to you coming into their community. Why go where you are not wanted? Not because you are gay but because most gays are ideological activist intent on molding everything in their own version of life, prosperity, etc.

"if you don't like it, you should just get out," I did. I lived in Ga. and they have a state income tax. I hated it. I had to send them money that I could have used at home. I left and came to TN where there is no state income tax. I guess I could have stayed and been progressive by trying to change the laws through protest, lawsuits, etc. but I chose to leave peacefully.

If a location/state had no job for me, I would leave and find another location/state that did. If you are gay and want what California and some other liberal states offer the Gay community, then I suggest you go there. While our society is ever changing, change is slow, sometime too slow and sometimes to fast. Consider the computer. If electricity goes out (large solar flare), everything will be down. In fact, cashiers can no longer count out money to be return because the cash register tells them how much to give back. I will tell you this, I believe it is wise to keep one foot in the "dark ages" while stepping into the 21st century. Just in case. If this is deemed to be "I don't like change" then so be it but I simply don't like surprises.

Whilst I agree with you - I think of say Happy Birthday to You ... etc

But obviuosly some words have meanings beyond their innocent contexts - using ape for an aboriginal person surely isnt the most sensible of things?

I know Aussies who when they are over here insist on using the term Paki - cos in Aust its just a shortened version of Paki (I dont know if it has racial connotations there or not - though its used freely in the media in a non overtly insulting way)

The problem being over here Paki is extremely offensive, so to use the term identifies yourself (even if unitentionally) as someone who likes offensive racist slurs and puts you in a possible camp that I as a white person would be wary of.

Now unless Australia genuinely never negatively refers to black people as monkeys/apes (i sersously doubt that - seeing our heritage is shared - but as the UK moved to multiculturism, Aus banned non whites from entering), I think even innocent references in that direction are best avoided. At the very least to avoid confusion.

I do not hate you or any of your mislead brothers and sisters. I have and still do work beside gays each and everyday but that does not mean we will be riding a bicycle built for two any time soon! It is sad that you have to belittle people you don't agree with by using words like the above. Here we are two human beings very close to the end of our lives as we know it and yet for all our differences it will finally come down to one thing; ' believing in God'..... I certainly do and can almost guarantee you will reach out in the final seconds if for nothing else other than to 'hedge your bets'. A true Agnostic
