It's been good to know you

Best of Luck~~~!!!

Why not become a mod and spend ALL of your time with us?

Right before Christmas...ye gods I hate upper management! :(

Well, your skills are still appreciated and needed here, Len.

Good luck with your job hunt...maybe you could consider doing some freelance/consulting work on the side while you look for a more permanent situation. And if the old employer needs to offer you some temp work to update a db for them be sure to charge them highly!

I am back... well nearly anyway

Spent 6 months retired. Quite nice actually

Picked up a job advert last wednesday, interviewed thursday, started monday so this is end of first week
No email, no network logon, no phone

Going okay but I do have a bit of an education job. Thier pride is a set of 4 databases.
No referal integrity
No normalisation#
BE/FE with access security (sort of)
some BE tables link to other BE's

Was getting a bit bored at home. Wifey had got used to me at home and was doing the really serious thinking about things to be done.

No PM's yet cos need to update email bits

Nice to be back though

Len

I hope I have many years left but not all in employment. :)

As always you detect the prime point with uncanny accuracy any offer the wisdom that comes with maturity.

I am flattered to be grouped with the "youngsters" but I never get asked for proof of age when buying whisky !!!!

Len

With not too long a time to "old fart" status

LOL,

I call anybody younger than me a youngster so that I can consider myself to be approaching middle age, even if its only myself that I'm kiddin'.

Dave Barry claims that one benefit of being a senior citizen is that you get away with anything- you can whack a taxi driver on head and he can't lay hand on you lest he be called a horrid beast for beating up a poor defenseless elder!

Glad to hear your news. Hope your new job is enjoyable and not too badly paid.

Cheers Rabbie

Of course its badly paid since all Access Developers are grossly undervalued but it will be enjoyable because it is working with Access.

Anway the pension from last employer helps the finances as well

Cheers again

Welcome back from your little vacation from the rat race :) WOW your retirement lasted longer than mine did but YES it is good on some levels to be back working and before long you will wonder when you will be able to take some holidays

Welcome back Len. You'll see nothing has changed, we just got older and crankier. (Especially Rich & Col - but don't tell them I said so).
