Cyberbullying VS Light-Hearted Prank

But I would have thought that this

Over here, in the UK, we have a saying which usually refers to Lord and Lady Muck.

Oh look at them, acting like Lord and Lady Muck

Which means similar to this definition of Lord Muck

An ordinary man behaving or being treated as if he were aristocratic

To again quote you where are the words "working conditions"

That is enough from me. You can have the last say.

So Brian you are stooping to the depths of bigitory by slandering Her Majesty and accusing the Royal Family (without evidence) of using their position to cause harm to a Nurse for just doing their job.

This is a Low act.

But this is OK. Jump back up on your high horse and critise others about things you know nothing about. Enjoy.

!Wow!
(this is two get my ten characters in)

Don't panic ... Rain was not entirely correct. Read the rest of it as well. :)

My take on this

We have all done a prank or two - or certainly probably enjoyed a prank tv show/ radio segment however -

It perfectly possible to construct a prank - even on people in a workplace - which doesnt ask them to do something against the rules of where they work - thereby putting their livelihoods at risk. Failure 1.

You dont prank a hospital. Failure 2.

I agree the DJs probably never expected to get through. However - when teh voice answering was Indian - and less likley to notice their terrible accents etc - they should have reassessed whether they were taking advantage. Failure 3.

They sat on the tape- and waited for permission before airing it. ie they had a long think - or should have about 1,2,3 - and simply didnt care.

There was mistakes made by the hospital and nurse etc mainlt spur of teh momemnt well meaning mistakes - but teh DJs radio station has no such excuse.

They should have been charged with decpeption - obtaining medical details.

Maybe your stupid Nurses should learn that they do not give out sensitive information without prroper authorisation.

Especially the royal Family.

That nurse cost someone's life. She should be sacked and never allowed to practice for life.

I get a certain amount of aussie nationalism outranking decent human empathy for someone.

PS you arent even in possession of the basic facts - to base your most crass of reactions, and have resorted to eefectively calling other forum users liars.

Well done!

It was the nurse that took the call and put it through that killed herself.

It wasn't the first time she had tried to commit suicide.

Prank call nurse 'in previous suicide attempt'

Australian DJs behind Kate hospital hoax call will not face charges - CPS

This right here goes right along with what I said! She had previous mental issues that may have been influenced by this prank, but were not the sole cause. Existing medical conditions were what ultimately caused her to commit suicide not the prank. The prank was definitely a factor, but not the sole cause.

Where do you get this idea from.

I never called anyone here a Liar.

You ought to learn to read. Also where are my facts wrong.

The inquest doesn't start until March.
The reason behind her committing suicide has not yet been established.
She had already attempted suicide several times before this incident.
She apparently left 3 suicide notes naming the DJs, her colleagues and the hospital.

So it's a little early to blame anyone for her decision.

Not only that but isn't it time to put this to bed.

My reply was over the top because I am tired of arm chair Lawers quoting the media as absolute truth.

Can't we wait for the legal process to run its course. But then I doubt if anything will happen because it was simply a prank that had ugly consequences. Blame cannot be soley laid at any singles persons feet.

I was unaware that the inquest was so close.

Could be interesting.

Are you going to address my reply to you in Post # 192 or are you just going to do a hit rum and hide.

I wonder if it was in relation to the conversation we had around your post 159 and the use of phrases that aren't understood Internationally, ie Lord and Lady snob which bares no relation to the Royal Family?

That I suppose is the difference between us, I've never found the predicament of others in real life funny.

It is true that the phoney voice was unbelievable, but then I'm not a nurse working in a hospital where Lord or Lady snob will expect instant attention on the mention of their name, and carry the clout to make my life uncomfortable if I don't look at them the right way.

This post is a nonsense , in fact it is more than that it is a downright lie about what I posted.

Brian

I did quote you word for word. How can that be a lie.

So where did I mention her majesty?

Brian

...
Brian

This is an International Forum.

If you want to say something using words that can be misconstrued then it is your fault for any misunderstanding on my part.

I must find out how to do multiple quotes in one post it really does allow one to build a neat and informative post.

Personally I think it is time to put this thread to bed, oops sorry that may not be understood by all. It is time to close this thread as it only seems to serve the purpose of causing insults to fly, some Aussies seem to get really annoyed at critiscim of their kin.

Brian

Nothing magical, I just use multiple copy and appends but back out without submitting the post until it's fully built.
