Hi,

I have a report which has a subform attached which I print it to a dot-matrix printer so I can use carbon paper.

The subform has shaded headers which look on the screen, but bot when printed with dot-matrix.

Does anyone know if I can un-shade the headers or even hide them?

I attach a screen shot for reference.

Thanks Chaps :)

Can't you just remove/delete them in the sub-report/form?

Thanks JHB.

Unfortunately not, they're automatically generated headers.

What about to use subreports, not subforms ?

Harry,

Yes! You can do either. Which do you prefer?

Let's start with hiding them.
  1. Open your report in design view.
  2. Highlight your headers. They are probably all in line, so you can put your cursor on the left side ruler, and it will turn into an arrow pointing to the right. Click and it will select all the controls to the right. That should be your headers.
  3. Open the Property Sheet if it's not already open. (Alt-Enter or Right-Click, Properties)
  4. On the Format tab, go to almost the bottom, and change the Display When property to Screen Only.
  5. Close your report and save.
That should make the headers visible on screen and invisible when printing.
The other way to go would be to get rid of the shading. That's the same procedure as above, except for
4. Change the Back Color property (near the top) to white (#FFFFFF).
or
4. Change the Back Style property to Transparent.
Either of those will allow printing of the header without the shaded box.
