Royal Hoodwink

she is not allow to have an opion as she represents the goverment -

that does not mean she has to do what the goverment tell her to do ...
she can amend speeches not appear at certain fuctions etc...

but the idea is that is the figure head of the goverement - therefore cannot vocally disagree with it ..

PP can do as he pleases , but even so on certain occasions he has to shut up .. as he is subject to the queen - PC is the same - but he has made it know that certain causes he will ignore the rules - so they don't put him in a position where he can directly embass the goverement -

good examples of this have been the princes trust , his views on organic gardening .. and his views on modern buildings

he will defend the princes trust (which is a good cause- for those that don't know is a safety net for young people training , grants for start up business, ex offenders )
and he will attack the govement on their lack of attention to those who fall through the net - ok its a small thing in the grand scale of things that can be doen - but he did it off his own back using of course all of his resoruces as heir to the throne - getting pop acts to do concerts - inviting busienss leaders to his estate and getting them to employ youngster - or just askign questions of MP/council officals why is x taking so long - if you have a high profile person asking you questions you act on these pretty damn quick...

You didn't finish your sentence there Ken, so I'll finish it for you

... his opinions are that the public are all idiots!

That just doesn’t float. The PM represents your government and his opinions are public.

No his views are of the party thats in power at the time - and soon to change (I hope)

You're trying to hide behind a bunch of semantics. Bottom line is she has a tremendous influence on public issues and does not tell the public where she stands on a lot of these issues.

What tremendous influence on what public issues?

The royal family are a bunch of worthless parasites. As for the tourist argument, France is the most popular tourist destination in the world and they killed their aristocracy maybe we should give it a try and see if we can knock them off the top spot.

You forgot to mention the biggest bunch of parasites, i.e. our so called membership of the EU, you know the place where Bliar wants to be president and our current government refuses to hold the "promised referendum"

Sayeth the man who helped inflict Bush on the world for 8yrs

What!! Ken did that all by himself, didn't realise he was that powerful. Best be careful I don't cross him.

And one that costs us Billions!

So, you would have voted for Obama then?
I just wonder, because someone said, "What has Obama done?" and I thought, "Hmmmm..... I guess it doesn't matter who we elect. It's never good enough!"

Is that a true perception or are our neighbors pleased at all with him?

as one of your neighbours...
He is better than the monkey you had in before - however not a lot of action - lots of talking ... he needs to do some stuff, and yes I do understand it takes time - but he really needs to deliver on some key stuff.

but he is better than the complet tosser we have as prime minister who is a lying little shit head - only in power for as long as the next election comes round - the goverment is total lost - with no real direction- it is promising the earth - but it knows its on its way out and can ina couple of years say " we were going to do xxxxx"

he was a reasonable chancellor - but that was because of the financial cycle (pretty much the same as clinton had a peak, he didn't actual do much on it , but rode the waves)
