Uk Road Tax Increase

as for high MPG veichles the lightweight diesels wipe the floor with everyone.

Audi A2 - 90MPG
Renaults 1.4 & 1.5 dCi - 60-90MP
Newer BMW 180d - 50-70MPG
Seat Ibiza Diesel: 90MPG

Its really not difficult to find a veichle out their which has got decent enough MPG to get you from A to B.

.

Don't be suckered into these Manufacturers MPG claims, they are achieved in laboratory conditions on a flat rolling road by experts who know how much to push the car to achieve this figure.

My Diesel C2 that I bought from new had a claim of 76.6 MPG, the best that I have achieved is 61.3MPG and that was achieved by driving very carefully betweeen 60 and 70 MPH and not going over 3000 RPM between gear changes... and believe me in normal driving conditions both of those are very hard to achieve.

I would say for any manufacturers claim on MPG, take a quarter off it and that is what you can realistically expect to achieve.

Doesn't sound so good now eh...

How do I know this.... I used to work for Mclaren (the Formula One team) in the HQ in Woking England, and this is how they tested their cars for optimom speeds to prolong fuel usage between pit stops... and this is industry standard.

I would walk more if it were safe. Tried it once and got assulted by muggers, lucky I escaped them, but I won't walk around Harlow again!
