Gun laws do they work

There may be a different format for debating between your country and mine, I don’t know. From my experience it is perfectly normal to put an article out there for discussion and people taking both sides on some aspect.
Dick, we live in the same country. You are incredibly confused. If you admit that you're debating, then you are posting/supplying excerpts for the purpose of providing support for your argument.

Where does your profile say your an American. I must have mist it. Your post sound a lot like Brian's to me.

So she did not call 911 as I said. I wonder what she would have done if she had not been able to reach her husband. She does not come across to me as a heroine but as an idiot who panics and should not be allowed anywhere near a gun.

Brian

Surely you jest!!! I have been in those situations. I would like to see how you would react under panic mode.

Well for a start you certainly wouldn't go through someone else to phone 911, Common sense would tell you to phone 911 direct, therefore, she's an idiot.

That's the point, she should not have gone into panic mode.

Thank you rodmc, I'm glad somebody else understands what an idiot she was.

Brian

Why phone 911?

Would it not be too late for that.

Use your time to defend. At least that is what I would do in the same situation. What she did fail to do was to kill. If you are going to shoot, make sure they are dead so that they cannot testify against you.

But then, I am not her and I was not there.

I have enough to contend with as it is. You should try and dodge a boomerang. They are one mean piece of a weapon.

It was too late given the way she behaved. As I said in my earlier post she should have shouted to him when he rang the bell that she was not going to open the door, was armed and would shoot, then if he came back from his car dial 911.

Maybe if she could open a window she could fire a warning shot, as it was her actions endangered her kids by trapping them in the house and she only took panic action , by the sounds of it, when finally forced to do so.

Brian you have a weird sense of humor, but then so do I. At least that is what my wife says.

It most be wonderful to be all knowing.
You can put be down as an idiot also but you endanger me or my family your going to be just as dead, panic mode at all.

Women don't think like men. (in General there is always exceptions)

OK Mr Muslim President.........you and that stupid Biden going to
take the guns
away? This will be the most popular present old Santa will be
delivering next Christmas........
Ask for one from Santa.......
A must have in every home in America !
For everyone who would rather not have a gun in the house!
In view of the recent Supreme Court ruling, sales of this new product may
skyrocket. Washington thinks they are going to take away our guns, so check this out. I
like it!NAIL GUNS! AND, you don't even have to REGISTER them or have LICENSES for them!
AND, you don't have to worry about them being CONCEALED! Just a LOT of good stuff to do with THIS!
Once in awhile something so totally cool comes out that even a guy who doesn't normally even know what he'd like for Father's Day or Christmas would immediately ask for it: Thank you, DeWalt!!! New Nail Gun, made by DeWalt
It can drive a 16-D nail through a 2x4 at 200 yards. This makes construction a breeze, you can sit in your lawn chair and build a fence. Hundred round magazine. If someone breaks into your house; just nail him!

I hope the person who post this did so as humor, as I had training with nail guns and they are a lot more dangerous that a pistol.

Women don't always think and or speak like men

GCF: Frozen

A wife texts her husband on a cold morning: "Windows frozen."

Her husband texts back: "Pour some lukewarm water over it."

The wife texts back 5 minutes later: "Computer completely messed up now."

Excellent!

Adam,
Have you not been in discussion group were each person poses a theory for discussion without having to defend nor deny it, or each person will defend portions, and may deny others portions. Or person will present statement, news articles, College regulation, civil laws, etc. without submitting a position just to hear both sides of the issue. would it not be legit for someone on this thread now to post all or parts of the so called new gun regulation without taking sides, just to hear open discussion?

Metropolitan police to roll out Tasers in response cars across London
A question to the mayor's office for policing and crime by Jenny Jones, assembly member for the Greens, reveals the budget for the weapons will be £817,864 a year during the first stage of the rollout, which will eventually equip response vehicles with Tasers in each of the capital's 32 boroughs.
Met commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe has said he wants to see the stun guns in everyday use by response cars – a change in policy from their previous use, which was restricted to specialist firearms officers and TSG officers.
The first stage of the rollout will see Tasers extended to Bromley, Kingston, Harrow, Barking and Dagenham, and Enfield. The Met is increasing the number of Tasers from 800 to more than 6,500.
I am interested in the opinion pro or con, of anybody that lives in these sections, as I don’t live there and had never been trained or even handle a stun gun I have no opinion.

Tasers are excellent tools, however, you need to be in close proximity to deploy accurately. Good feature of taser is that the operator has the control of being able to not 'tase' innocent bystanders.
Training curve is rather steep if the users have been taught to use live ammunition from fire arms with high velocity rounds and high capacity magazines. Training on those weapons are based on point and squeeze trigger until the intended target is hit. You need to be much closer and more accurate as the taser is a single shot short range.
Users also have to realise that it is a deadly weapon when improperly used or when used on people with certain ailments or weaknesses.
There is a lot of negativity towards the use of tasers, the charge can cause irreversable heart damage or death, and there is an increased risk with multiple energizing as the charge can be administered multiple times.

People that are against tasers are somewhat confusing to me. Which is why I am looking into informing myself. If a cop wasn't allowed to use a taser that would mean he would have to use his gun. While there is a risk as you mention, it would seem to me that it is a much less risk than if the criminal was shot.

Our police are not armed unless members of special units.

What worries me is that some of those already permitted to use Tasers have been a bit gungho, recently a blind man was tasered when an equally blind cop mistook his white stick for a samurai sword !!!
You're correct of course that it would have been worse if the cop had had a gun.

The larger the pool of users the more dilute the quality.

Was he swinging the stick in the air? How does someone make a mistake like that? Wow...
