Hers's some news for you Shane - America is not the be-all and end-all in the world, I know that you all think you're earths rulers - thats why you're the most hated country on the planet.
However, it may be true to say that America will be the end of the world - all brought about by a religious freak in the white house.

Col

Talk about misplaced anger.

I wonder how this hatred affects your health?

Your post is helping me to move on, because it’s obvious that spending time here has become a terribly negative influence in my life.

You said that before but couldn't stay away because you missed me and Rich so much:D ;)

At this rate Jen, you'll have more comebacks than Cher:rolleyes:

Maybe Col, but this is not constructive, in any way.

It's a shame actually, I see potential for a coming together of minds around the globe, I guess it's inevitable that we should all act like children.

You latter point is very evident in how minds from the globe can help each other by browsing the Access forums. The golden rule is always obeyed, no matter how simple or complex the question, the poster needs to know the answer, so we treat everyone with similar respect. I never note where posters are from as its irrelevant

The 'cooler and political forums are bound to have people having a harmless pop at each other, thats human nature. Everyone thinks they live in the best place (especially the Americans):D but each country has its good and bad points. Cultural differences are fascinating. Some posters take things very seriously and others don't - they like to stir things up a bit. Its just a laugh most of the time

The UK has many bad points, some can be directed at mismanagement by the government (whoever they are), others are people orientated. Fortunately I think we have many good points in the UK that outweigh the bad.

The USA is the same I'm sure you will agree. As is France, Spain, Germany or wherever.

Maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusion Col, which seems to be hard for you not to do. You don't know me so you don't know how I think. You do not have a clue what I think about America and it's part in the world. Now to explain what I meant about America being lightly mentioned in prophecy. If you had read my post a little closer I would think you would have picked up on why I find it odd. America has always aligned with Israel since she became a country. Prophecy says that Israel is going to attacked like no country in history has ever been attacked and there is no mention of America coming to her aid. That's the part I find odd.

You can go ahead and stereotype me if you like. You've done it before and will probably do it again, but the truth will still remain that you do not know me nor the way I think so you do not have clue how I think of America. I will give you a clue on one thing though. The thought on America being the end-all and be-all has never even crossed my mind.

The Bible doesn't mention America because this great book of "the future" didn't know it existed, or the rest of the World for that matter.
As for America "always has supported" Israel, it's not for some altruistic reason but because of the Jewish vote back home.
How wrong would the bible be if the Jews had been given Uganda as their homeland?

I didn't say that the Bible doesn't mention American, I said it didn't say much about America. As far as the rest of the world, you should go back and examine again, cause many countries are mentioned and confirmed, whether it's in the past or countries mentioned in future events to take place, such as the "the great bear from the north moving down against Israel." Would this country be hard to identify who they are?

"How wrong would the bible be if the Jews had been given Uganda as their homeland?"

Very wrong. The exact location (and more than what they have now) is what the Bible prophecied would be where their country would be when they begin to gather again and become their own country.

You mean like Nostradamus and the Almanacs?

I guess the way I worded what I said, then this would be true (when I used the word accurate). Problem is Nostradamus and the Almanac don't always get their predictions right. So far every prophecy in the Bible has been 100% on the mark.

As I mentioned yesterday, the prophecies in the Old Testament of Jesus birth. There were hundreds of them and they all came true. Everywhere from when, where, how and etc. The books in the Old Testament where written long before the birth of Christ so saying someone manipulated it to look that way would not be a valid argument.

This is fun...can I just copy and paste now?

Seriously? You have doubts or don't believe the Books in the Old Testament were written before the birth of Christ?

Oh yea, paste away. :)

Did all of the prophecies name him or refer to him as 'the son of god' or 'our saviour', or what?

Assuming - just for the sake of argument - that he wasn't the son of god or a saviour, then none of those prophecies came true, unless they said someone of that name would be born. If the last case is true, was he the first person ever to have that name? I know it means something like 'god will help', but there are plenty of people today with that name and I've known at least one who was more of a burden on society than a help.

As far as other biblical prophecies are concerned, am I right in thinking that few gave many precise details, let alone specific dates? If so, then I could make a prediction today and - allowing myself the latitude of an infinite timeline - stand by it indefinitely. If it comes true, I'm a prophet. If not, it will eventually, just wait.

Are there any examples of specific details in biblical predictions i.e. time, date, persons involved, cause, outcome, etc.?

Note: I've tried to keep the questions as non-insulting as possible, so apologies if I've caused any offence.
