Ah you mean the round of drinks, is that needed before the game to keep one awake or after to further assist slumber through boredom?

Huh? What did his post have to do with drinking?

Ah.

Round of golf
Round of drinks
Round we go

Don't sweat it Joe...Rich is (in)famous for misunderstanding...most things!?#?

As we and most know, I was referring to the challenge of playing golf because one's ability can vary from day to day, no matter how much experience one has...

It certainly sounds like Rich varies depending on how many pints are in him at the given time!#??$!:D

Pardon me for asking - Just what is 'GML' that there is a 'World Champ' of? :)

Just curious...
(Sorry to be a pain if you've already explained this :))

Round the bend if you play or watch golf.

Given Monday's round, of golf that is, I concur.

That being said, I enjoy playing the game 99% of the time, even though I go round and round with it. Definitely a game that demands practice of the entire skill set, in order to excel.

I take it, from your posts Rich, that you do not care for golf. I once felt the same, having only been bored to tears from watching it on the telly. It looked like a stupid game, grown men chasing a little white ball around several hundred acres of green. But...one round was all it took, and now...round and round I go. ;) :D

Applause...

Hey, there's that faint heartbeat yet again...wow, twice in a couple of days, you must feel quite sprout!?#?$?!#

So many levels of competitive accumen, work-ethic, strategies, decades of practice, mental tenacity, guts, ...is anyone here at all surprised at this posting?

KenHigg: Out of respect for my golf league membership, I won't share that here but suffice it to say that my league is tolerant of any player, any skill level, and from anywhere!

I wasn't the one asking the question Jon:rolleyes: :p

No, you were the one, yet again, missing the post!

Great to hear that JoeCruse! I hear that from every single player I've run across or given lessons to; their initial thoughts were like most but as soon as they tried picking up a club themselves, it's the most humbling experience and genuinely addictive because you can't accept that a crooked stick and a ball could ever be so hard to control!!!

Tiger run...continues!

Exactly as predicted; Europe may own the Ryder Cup but Tiger owns the world when it comes to one-on-one competition!

He's well on his way to his sixth straight win this week at the American Express World Championships!:D

Six in a row...

The Tiger romp continues in style with a sixth straight win this past weekend in Hertfordshire, England at the American Express Championships!

Tiger has now won this World Championship event FIVE times!

You can reduce any sport or game to absurdity, I remember taking my then 4 year old daughter to putt on one of those seaside putting games, she put the ball down and proceded to chase it round the grass, I told her that the idea was to get the ball into the hole, she looked at me, at the hole , at the ball, picked it up and place it in the hole and stood there grinning. Yep that sums up golf.:D

ps I used to play, badly, before the eyes went awol.

I told many of my members about this site so this is a quick way to share our golf league history with each other.

We had a website but because of hackers and the like, I took it off the net.

Also, this may serve as an inspiration to other looking into starting up there own league...I'm happy to help!

This is the 10th anniversary of this formation of the "BELT" league but in total, my 18th year!
