Has impeachment lost its oomph?

The scary thing is CNN and others keep pushing this idea that mobs are coming to the capital. That's why we need razor wire around the capitol It's a tactics to keep us in fear much like Covid-19, it's a tool.

I've noticed that the rhetoric about the police has flipped 180 degrees. Before, Republicans were talking about over 800 police offers being recently injured, and all you got from the left wing media is how abhorrent the police tactics were. But when it comes to the impeachment, they go into detail about how badly the police were injured. Yet the police being shot dead during the BLM riots barely got a mention. Once again, blatant hypocrisy and double standards.

Not a big fan of Ted Cruz, but he is spot-on here!
Its interesting how constitutional these guys get when it fits their narrative...

Col, you're a real piece of work and give as good as you get. Don't ever change!

Trump told the crowd to 'fight like hell'
As usual, you assume the most evil, sick interpretation of what Trump said. This is a pattern and maybe you need to talk to someone about it to get help. The phrase s a figure of speech and I think you know it and have probably said it yourself. Most people have. Did YOU mean go break into a building and destroy stuff? Did you mean "take him outside behind the gym and smack him in the face"? How about Nancy telling people to riot in the streets over this election challenge? And let's not forget the VP in an interview saying that BLM will not stop rioting and SHOULD not isn't a call to violence? I'm sure that all of these were perfectly innocent in your mind.

I agree. Our politicians are experts.
Col
You mean the people who punch each other out and groan like animals instead of applauding? Sounds more like a frat house..

I (and the U.K.) only get information from the BBC news or ITV news. Both of which focus on Trump urging the crowd to march to congress and 'fight like hell - for America'. If that is evil, sick etc. I suggest you write to the BBC and complain. But when I see Trump actually saying the words then after, there is a riot showing people smashing up congress. The two are linked and it appears Trump incited the crowds to riot. The impression is that everyone there was rioting, we saw the footage, no mention of non rioters.
There has been no mention of Nancy or BLM saying anything on UK TV news.
Can you explain what I or we British are supposed to think? Remember, we don't have the extensive coverage you have. Not many people in the UK care a jot what happens in the USA, hence a two or three minute item on the news.

Isaac, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Col

I can chip in on this one, since I watch both the BBC and US networks. The BBC have simply got it in for Trump, like most of the media. They omit key information and so you get the slant they want to put on the story. For example, I saw a clip on the BBC the other day where Trump said fight like hell, but they completely omit the part where he says to peacefully protest. So, what is the viewer to think? Only that Trump has no intention of it being peaceful, even though he asked them to be peaceful. They also leave out information by the FBI about it being pre-planned, which then exonerates Trump to some degree.

Then look at this in context. Far more police and citizens injured or killed during the BLM riots, with over $2 billion of damage. Yet their was inflammatory rhetoric from the Democrats about this. But the BBC never covers it.

A few years ago, I just assumed the BBC was a largely impartial organisation that tries to impart the truth to the viewer. Now I see it very differently, where they actually spin the story when it has a political agenda. They try to fool the uninformed. I find it sad that I can no longer trust such a trusted institution.

Which is why I do not watch Lame-Stream Media. Even Faux (Fox) News is slanted. People just go with the slant that suits them, consider it true and point fingers at the other side. Madness...

There is one journalist I trust, Ben Swann, but he will never get any serious air time. Truth is treason in the Empire of Lies...

Jon, thanks for backing up my comments re what we see on BBC / ITV news.

My problem here is that I comment on what I see or what is reported to us. Sadly, the Americans here, assume we have as much info as them. They then get all pissy and start this ColinEssex is stirring it business. But really, I can only comment on what I see.

Oh you poor, poor dear... Save it dude, we all know each other here!

Besides, if you are aware that you may not have the whole story, WHY then take a hard stance? Why not take a more objective approach like Jon has done?

The answer: There is no fun in that!! We all have our parts to play here...game on!

Trump told the crowd to 'fight like hell', which they did and smashed up congress building.
All those that attended the riots should be arrested, and if they are young, the parents should be fined and take responsibility for their offspring. It's usually parents to blame for the lack of moral guidance.

@ColinEssex: in one post along this thread, you lamented: "I (and the U.K.) only get information from the BBC news or ITV news. Both of which focus on Trump urging the crowd to march to congress and 'fight like hell - for America'. If that is evil, sick etc.". I trust that you realize, that if you have a computer (which obviously you do have) that you can look at other sources of information. You could become self-motivated and explore those opportunities. I suggest that you watch the video below.

Col, do you remember this advert on UK telly some time ago?

That pretty much sums it all up. One story, 3 different angles. The media outlet decides which angle to present to the viewer. In essence, there is more to the Trump story than is commonly presented on UK television.

Those of Democrat leaning will say I am deluded. :ROFLMAO:
